PMD Compliant Packaging - The Pizza Box
For almost 15 years no one had been able to figure out how to get pharmacies involved directly supporting a PMD subscriber, until now. Specialty Homecare Lifeline worked with community pharmacies, local manufacturers, and state agencies to develop and manufacture WAC compliant packaging which allows for pharmacies to directly support a PMD subscriber. Specialty Homecare Lifeline's compliant packaging is the first in the nation specifically designed to support the PMD system. The compliant packaging allows a pharmacy to place the PMD dispense cups into the Loading Tray, fill the PMD dispense cups in sequence, and then secure the Loading Tray into a carrier for delivery. The combination of the Loading Tray and Carrier, fondly referred to as the Pizza Box, allows for medications to be delivered to home sites with the appropriate labeling in place. Families who choose to fill the dispense cups themselves, are provided with our compliant packaging at no additional cost as part of their participation in the PMD program. Other PMD programs who are looking to improve their programs can order our PMD compliant packaging by clicking on the links below, or contacting us for large orders. The average PMD subscriber supported directly by a pharmacy will need 6 Pizza Boxes in play for a smooth operation. After years of research, it was determined that roughly 90% of all SHC Lifeline PMD subscribers were taking medications twice a day. The 4 Hole Pizza Box was developed to allow a pharmacy or family to fill and secure 2 weeks of medications.
